Shilpa Mudbi & Adithya Kothakota

Shilpa Mudbi Kothakota is an artist currently living in Kalaburgi. Born and brought up in Bangalore, she graduated in Media Arts and Production from Sydney, Australia. She has been in the field of social justice as a social activist and media consultant with NGOs working on youth, women, and child rights. She taught Documentary filmmaking at Mount Carmel Collage and has worked at Ranga Shankara Theatre Bangalore as a Program Coordinator. She is the Co-founder of Urban Folk Project, a collective that looks at collating folk knowledge systems of North Karnataka. Urban Folk Project (UFP) is an initiative to bring lesser-known folk forms and artists to the fore. Focusing mainly in the North Karnataka region, UFP uses elements of these forms to build bodies of work that engage an urban audience with folk art practices. Urban Folk Project (UFP) was started by Shilpa Mudbi Kothakota, and Adithya Kothakota in 2017. Adithya and Shilpa will be performing the 'Yellamma and Other Stories' for the 'Gaatha Festival.
