Folke Tegetthoff

Born in Austria he celebrated in 2024 besides his 70th birthday his 45th anniversary as a writer and storyteller. He is one of the most prominent and successful living authors of Austria: 45 books with a total amount of 1,6 Mio sold copies, translated into 12 languages (including Chinese, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and others). As well as one of the most important professional storytellers worldwide with more than 5000 performances in 42 countries on all continents. In 1988 he invented and since then organizes Europe’s biggest and worldwide second oldest Storytelling Festival in 5 regions in Austria. The 20-days-festival catches yearly around 16.000 visitors: Austrian International Storytelling Festival (www.storytellingfestival.at). Folke and his wife Astrid (from the Netherlands) have four children and five grandchildren. They live in a former nunnery in the south of Austria and on a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea in Piran, Slovenia.
